Schools and Education
The Santa Clara Unified, Cupertino Union and Sunnyvale School Districts provide education to the City’s students through approximately thirteen elementary, four middle and two high schools. Additionally, there are several private and parochial school options providing educational alternatives to a variety of age groups.
Sixty-seven percent of the city’s residents are college education. This high percentage may be due in large part to its location to numerous institutions of higher education. Sunnyvale is home to several community and local colleges such as Foothill, De Anza, West Valley, Mission Community Colleges and Cogswell College. And, within a convenient one hour drive are several distinguished universities and colleges including Stanford University, San Jose State University, Santa Clara University and University of California.
